I wrote a letter for you today,
And I put it in a box.
I covered it with my tears,
Then I closed it with a lock.

In this letter I put,
What I need to say.
Things that I hold in,
Every single day.

I can’t really predict,
How you’ll think or how you’ll feel.
You just make my heart thunder,
You make all my dreams real.

This box I hold tightly,
And caress it with my touch.
For this is only for you,
The one who means so much.

I’m too scared to hand it over,
To you, the one so dear.
I’ve blown so many chances,
For it’s your reaction that I fear.

The key I’ve hidden away,
In the depth of my heart.
It’ll stay untouched there,
‘Til these fears decide to depart.

When the fear decides to leave,
I’ll give the key to you.
This will reveal the letter,
And the secret I’ve kept from you.

But until then,
I wrote a letter.
